Selected Work
The Evie by Movano Health
Industrial Design by Maroon Vault
Product Design/Design Engineer
Beginning with the early phase of form development for Maroon Vault, brought the design direction into production-ready 3D geometry for a medical-grade smart ring and custom charging case. Retained directly by Movano Health to help maintain design continuity across subsequent conceptual and engineering iterations.
Ensuring premium aesthetics survive high-volume production. This phase bridges surface modeling and production CAD, balancing tight biometric sensor constraints, wall thicknesses, parting lines, and enclosure fits without compromising original design lines.
Moldex-Metric, Inc
Delivering mechanical design, complex surfacing, and product ideation across a seven-year relationship. Work ranged from battery-powered PAPR systems to launched commercial hardware, including the 7902 Half Mask Welding Respirator and the 7003 Reusable Half Mask.
Developing high-performance geometry for human-interface hardware. This technical sample demonstrates advanced surface modeling executed to achieve precise, airtight face seals—balancing comfort, structural integrity, and strict regulatory ergonomics for elastomeric mask systems.
The Angle Level
Design Engineer
Part of the R&D team for four years, designing and engineering external lens systems for the demanding and ever-changing world of smartphones, iPhone and Samsung. Seen here is the 3-in-1 clip with the Flip Case for the iPhone 5. Products regularly sold in the Apple stores.
Transforming loose R&D ideation into functional consumer accessories. Focus centered on the actualization of complex mechanical features, balancing tight consumer electronic tolerances, material flexing, and precise mechanical interfaces across a fast-to-market catalog.
The Angle Level
Industrial Design, Project Manager, Mechanical Lead
Co-developing a patented torpedo level featuring a laser on a circular track to project precise angles over distances. Established the industrial design language to compete with premium tools, incorporating a rugged metal chassis and custom color-coded components into a field-tested device.
Acting as Project Manager as well as designer, this phase coordinated PCB designers, electrical engineers and a complex tool for the chassis to deliver a weighted, fully operational Beta prototype built for professional use.
Lock Box for Empirical Design, LLC
Product Design
Heavy-duty lock box with RF sealing for dealership lots, enabling secure, after-hours test drives. Features a window-mounted sheet-metal bracket, a key-locked downward door, and an internal hinged basket that rotates key FOBs into an ergonomic position for the user.
Designing moving assemblies for unpredictable weather environments. Highlights internal rotational movements, utilizing overlapping walls and precision O-ring compression seals to achieve full RF and waterproof isolation.
Mandala V3 for Synesthesia Corp
Mechanical Design
An updated design for the newest version of the popular Mandala Drum, a zero-latency MIDI drum pad, for production. The complex assembly needed new and iterative component updates, with tight geometric tolerances for hardware alignment. Endorsed and used by Danny Carey of the rock band Tool.
Delivered production-ready 3D files with high-impact visual assets, such as this rendered exploded-view assembly animation featured across official marketing channels.
Looks Like Prototypes
Early ideation and physical form studies through rapid visualization. The form study here features a 3D CAD model, exploded renderings, and hand-finished 1:16 scale physical model, printed and painted for look and feel.
Works Like Prototypes
With today’s rapid 3D prototyping at close hand, ideas can be tested very quickly. This divider box uses modular corners and sides with interlocking panels, and a ribbed liner accepting adjustable dividers to test tolerances and assembly sequences.
Form Development Ideation
Sketches, 2D drawings and perspective views help push the boundaries during the adventurous stage of exploration.
Concept Development Ideation
This tablet display was the culmination of an initial 30/60 degree triangle napkin sketch. A physical foam model was created to test out the multiple sitting positions for the tablet enclosure, that would house the iPad snugly inside.
